RICHMOND, Va. (March 7, 2022) – Towson junior Blair Pearre, Elon senior Gillian Curran, and Elon freshman Sammy Fisher have been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association weekly award winners for women’s lacrosse.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Blair Pearre, Towson
Junior | Midfield | Pikesville, Md. / McDonogh School
Pearre scored five goals and collected 13 draw controls in Towson’s 20-8 Saturday night win over Saint Joseph’s. The midfielder from Maryland scored her five goals on six shots, while the 13 draw controls were one shy of the program and conference record set by Natalie Sulmonte in 2018.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gillian Curran, Elon
Senior | Midfield | Fair Haven, N.J. / Rumson Fair Haven Regional
Curran collected 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers over a 2-0 week with wins against Campbell and Furman. The midfielder from Central Jersey corralled four ground balls and notched two caused turnovers – along with 12 draw controls, two shy of the conference record – in Wednesday’s win over Campbell before tallying six ground balls and three caused turnovers in Saturday’s victory at Furman.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sammy Fisher, Elon
Freshman | Midfield | Parkland, Fla. / Marjory Stoneman Douglas

Fisher tallied seven goals and five draw controls in the Phoenix’s 2-0 week as Elon earned its first two wins of the year. The midfielder from Florida scored three times in Wednesday’s win over Campbell before collecting four goals in Saturday’s victory at Furman.
